School Policies

Advancement

Careful attention is given to placing each dancer in the appropriate class, based on age, maturity, technical level, and ability.  It is common for a student to remain in a level for at least two years.  This time is needed to master increasingly difficult steps.  Good attendance, hard work, and a positive attitude are the keys to steady progress.

Attendance/Promptness

Please inform the school via phone of anticipated absences prior to class time.  Students should arrive ON TIME.  Tardiness limits warm-up time, which causes injuries.  Late arrivals also disrupt class concentration.  Students over ten minutes late will be asked to sit and observe class.  Please pick up your student promptly after class.

Attire

All required attire may be purchased at Dance On in Laconia.  NO JEWELRY OR EXTRA CLOTHING is to be worn during class.  Hair must be pulled back away from the face and neck.  A ballet bun is required for all kindersteps, pre-ballet, and ballet classes.  Dancewear is not suitable for streetwear.  Please wear cover-ups and street shoes to and from class.

Inclement Weather

Parent/Teacher Communication

Please call the school with questions or concerns.  Teachers are available for private conferences outside of class time.  New and announcements will be posted intermittently on our news feed and on our Facebook page.  Look for other important notices on the bulletin boards in the lobby.  Parents are invited to observe class during Demonstration Days.

Performance

All students will perform in the annual year-end performances in May.  A costume deposit (per costume) is due November 1st, and the balance is due when the costume arrives in February.  Costume deposits are non-refundable.  Tickets to the performances will be available in April.
